== Overview == Information about maintaining Yoosee SD-M5 video doorbell. == Installation == * Cat6 RJ45 cable plugs into the back of the camera. * A screw secures the camera to its mount at the bottom of the camera. * Other end of Cat6 RJ45 plugs into PoE injector supplied by Yoosee. * Other network plug of PoE injector goes to Wifi router. * PoE injector is plugged into power outlet. == Configuration == === Bluetooth doorbell chime === * Make sure that the doorbell has power and is connected to the router. * Press the '''Volume''' button of the chime and release once the light comes on. * Press the '''Call''' button doorbell (the one with the bell on it). The light on the chime should flash once. * Press the '''Call''' button on the doorbell again. The light on the chime should flash several times. ''' Diagnostics ''' * Confirm the Ethernet cable is carrying data. ** Plug one end into the switch where the PoE was plugged. ** Plug the other end of the ethernet calbe (the one in the doorframe) into a laptop. ** Turn off wifi on the laptop. ** Confirm that the laptop can reach the router. * Confirm that the doorbell is working. ** Remove the doorbell from the doorframe. ** Plug a different shorter Cat6 cable into the PoE injector. ** Plug the other end of the new cable into the doorbell (closer to the router). ** Confirm that the doorbell gets power and can be seen by the Android Yoosee app. === Disabling default audible alerts === There is an annoying telephone ringing noise that plays when the doorbell is pressed. This can be disabled by blocking the doorbell from WAN and thus the Yoosee servers. <ref>[https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/yoosee-sd-m5-doorbell-1080p-poe-rtsp-onvif-only-66.40569/post-460798 Forum comment regarding disabling SD-M5 alert] - SD-M5 thread in IPCamTalk forums</ref> === Determine the IP address the doorbell on the LAN === The router shows the doorbell as "unnamed" along with its Mac address. If there is another device without a host name, it is impossible to determine which one is the doorbell. See [[Viewing The Device Names on a LAN|Viewing Device Names on a LAN]]. Yoosee SD-M5 is listed as "Shenzhen Gwelltimes Technology Co.,Ltd". === Password prompt in Yoosee app === '''Symptom''' The Yoosee app sees the doorbell as a device on the network. While attempting to add the doorbell as a new device in the Yoosee app, the app prompts for the device password before allowing you to connect to it. There is no password available for the device, however. ''' Solution''' Reset the doorbell. This requires access to the back of the doorbell device. == References == <references />
