Stylus tip shapes[edit]

TK, but using a stylus with a spherical tip picks up less surface noise than playing the record using a stylus with an elliptical shaped tip.

Adobe Audition[edit]

Click/Pop Eliminator[edit]

  • Select portion of the audio to work on.
  • Effects > Noise Reduction/Restoration > Click/Pop Eliminator
  • For extra noise reduction: Effects > Noise Reduction/Restoration > Noise Reduction [1]

Auto Heal[edit]

  • Using the Spectral Frequency Display can help highlight clicks.
  • Make a tight selection centered the click.
  • Main menu > Favorites > Auto Heal

Audacity[edit]

  • Open the source file in Audacity.
  • Select a range of the waveform.
  • Main Menu > Effects > Click Removal

TK: Experiment with Click Removal settings.
