Stylus tip shapes[edit]
TK, but using a stylus with a spherical tip picks up less surface noise than playing the record using a stylus with an elliptical shaped tip.
Removing clicks and pops[edit]
Adobe Audition[edit]
Click/Pop Eliminator[edit]
- Select portion of the audio to work on.
- Effects > Noise Reduction/Restoration > Click/Pop Eliminator
- For extra noise reduction: Effects > Noise Reduction/Restoration > Noise Reduction [1]
Auto Heal[edit]
- Using the Spectral Frequency Display can help highlight clicks.
- Make a tight selection centered the click.
- Main menu > Favorites > Auto Heal
Audacity[edit]
- Open the source file in Audacity.
- Select a range of the waveform.
- Main Menu > Effects > Click Removal
TK: Experiment with Click Removal settings.
