Symtoms

Diagnostics

  • Confirm the Ethernet cable is carrying data.
    • Plug one end into the switch where the PoE was plugged.
    • Plug the other end of the ethernet calbe (the one in the doorframe) into a laptop.
    • Turn off wifi on the laptop.
    • Confirm that the laptop can reach the router.
  • Confirm that the doorbell is working.
    • Remove the doorbell from the doorframe.
    • Plug a different shorter Cat6 cable into the PoE injector.
    • Plug the other end of the new cable into the doorbell (closer to the router).
    • Confirm that the doorbell gets power and can be seen by the Android Yoosee app.

Disabling default audible alerts

There is an annoying telephone ringing noise that plays when the doorbell is pressed.

This can be disabled by blocking the doorbell from WAN and thus the Yoosee servers. [1]
