Editing GA4 Custom Dimensions (section)

With a `view_item` event with a custom parameter, `location` which can have one of 3 values: "teaser," "preview," or "details," create a GA4 report that breaks down the `view_item` event by `location` value.

* '''GA4''' > '''Explore''' > New "free form" report
** Add "Event Name"" as dimension
** Add "Event Count" as metric
** Filter by Event Name where name is "view_item"

Now add the custom dimension.

* '''GA4''' > '''Admin''' (gear icon at lower left) > '''Data Display''' (in the central area) > '''Custom Definitions''' > '''Create Custom Dimension''' (button)
** Enter descriptive name and description
** '''Scope:''' Event
** '''Event Parameter:''' "location" which is automatically included in the options of the dropdown. GA4 puts all detected parameters in the menu.

It takes 24-48 hours for GA4 to populate data for the new dimension.

* Return to Explore.
** Add new Dimension
** Select '''Custom''' tab at the top and the custom dimension should be displayed. It not available until its data has been populated (24-48 hours).
